Hey guys. So I’ve been playing around recently with different ways of getting traffic. Real human traffic. The kind you can make money from. I stumbled upon, quite literally, Stumbleupon.
Now, instead of simply saying “Post your page and wait for traffic”. I’m gonna scale this up a bit.
First thing you should know about Stumbleupon is that while it needs an email address for you to sign up, it doesn’t verify the email. What does this mean? It means you can make up fake email addresses and create accounts for days. Lets start with 10 accounts.
Next, find the sitemap.xml of your website. All of my sites run WordPress, so I have a nice little setup for each one of them when it comes to sitemaps. All we need basically is the list of URLs in your site, you can gather them manually if you like. Stick them all in a spreadsheet or something if you like.
Finally, take each URL and post it on Stumbleupon. Don’t worry about a description, it doesn’t make any difference to your CTR as far as I could see. Just fill in the category, your tags and the URL. Do this with as many URLs as you can before you hit the daily limit for that account.
Sign out of Stumbleupon, login with a new account, and repeat.
I found a bot that does this all for me, but it’s really quick and simple to do this manually, and one could create an iMacros script if desired.
I got about 50 UVs in about 10 minutes from this method.
One thing to note, some of the views are from Stumbleupon’s crawlers or whatever you want to call them, but around 20% of these visitors are real human visitors on average. Keep an eye on this in Analytics.
